Owner and jeweler Angelito Marapao opened AquaGem in February 2019, but the dream began over 50 years ago in a 13-year old boy in the Philippines. His mother had passed away and his father was away at sea as a Captain of a fishing boat. With seven children in the home and his siblings being sent to various relatives to live, Angelito contacted his aunt and uncle who owned a jewelry store in Bulacan, Philippines, to see if they needed help so he could support himself and get a better education. In exchange for a place to work and live, Angelito agreed to learn how to become a jeweler.
Attending school during the day while working nights, he completed his schooling and attended college for civil engineering, but his love of art and creating jewelry compelled him to pursue his dream of owning his own store. That road brought him to the US at 38 years old where he worked as a jeweler in California and Nevada. When the owner of the jewelry store inside the Riviera Casino retired, Angelito took over ownership. During the economic downturn in 2008, Angelito decided to sell the store and move to Texas where he worked as an independent jeweler for many of the major jewelry retailers.
Now, in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho, the AquaGem dream has come alive again. Together with his wife Theresa they have opened their new store here downstairs at the Cedar Street Bridge Public Market and are making Sandpoint their home.
Angelito works in Gold, Silver and Platinum. He creates unique styles and can reset and redesign your existing jewelry pieces. He repairs items that many jewelers have said were impossible to fix.

Owners Tim and Manuela Frazier opened the doors of their “European style” bistro, the Cedar St. Bistro, in early 2008. Having spent 16 years stationed in Europe with the Air Force, where Tim met and married his German-born wife, Manuela, the Fraziers decided it was time to bring the hospitality and delicacies of European cafes to their own hometown. With the natural beauty of the lakes and mountains that surround the area and the history of the Cedar Street Bridge, Sandpoint was the picturesque setting they were looking for.
Tim and Manuela have created an atmosphere in the bistro that makes people feel welcome. It is a great place to meet friends or family for a specially made artisan coffee or a Chicken Breast Panini with a scoop of Italian gelato made fresh onsite. The Cedar St. Bistro stands by the European culture of taking life a little slower and enjoying great company. Tim and Manuela not only prepare delicious food and drinks for the residents of Sandpoint, but have greeted visitors from neighboring Canada to the outreaches of Australia!
As a family business, Tim and Manuela are heavily involved in all areas. Not only do they prepare and serve the food and drinks, but are also involved in the day to day operations such as ordering product, answering phones, growing their business and expanding their product line. They cater small functions for groups and businesses who want something a little more extraordinary.

Our most popular recipe is the Cedar Street Bridge Special, a spicy almond or pecan that uses three of our flavored sea salts – Vanilla, Smoked Serrano, and Venom. We add a little chili powder and cayenne pepper to finish it off. Spicy. Sweet. Yum.
We also offer Cinnamon Vanilla, Honey Mustard, Honey Chipotle, Ginger Lime, and our seasonal best Cocoa Candy Cane. If you come in to the Cedar Street Bridge and it smells like grandma’s house, we’re roasting. Come by and pop a free sample in your mouth. Tough to eat just one…

The organizations and artisan groups that we partner with provide men and women with sustainable and dignified employment for which they are paid a fair living wage—often 3-4 times the “unlivable” minimum wage of their countries. This, in turn, enables them to provide food, shelter, medical care, and education for themselves and their children—keeping families together, empowering future generations, and breaking the cycle of poverty in homes and communities.
